Booking a room
How do I book a room at www.riotel.com?
- Click on “Online Reservation” on our homepage and select the hotel you wish to stay in. Enter your check-in date, the duration of your stay (number of nights) and the total number of guests. Once you are done, click on Book.
- A list of rooms will appear for the hotel you selected.
If the Book button appears next to the room you are interested in, this means you can book the room online. Your room is guaranteed immediately.
If the Request Now button appears next to the room you are interested in, this means that a request for a reservation will be sent to the hotel to check the room’s availability. An email will be sent to you to confirm whether or not the room is available.
- The reservation process involves four steps: 1) Select the room you wish to stay in from the list of results; 2) Indicate how many breakfasts and dinners you want (optional); you can also indicate if you want an extra bed ($) and any specific requests you have; 3) Provide the hotel with your contact and credit card information and finalize the reservation; 4) Once your reservation has been made, a confirmation page will appear.
We will also send you an email confirmation of your reservation.
Once I’ve booked a room online, how late can I check in at the hotel?
If you have booked a reservation online, your room is guaranteed and you can check in at any time.

How can I be sure that my reservation was processed?
The reservation number you receive once you have booked the room guarantees that your reservation was processed.

How late can I book a room online?
If you are booking a room for the same day, you must make the reservation before 6 p.m. For any other reservation, you can book your room at any time of the day or night.

What should I do if I don’t receive a reservation number at the end of the reservation process?
Please make sure that the credit card information you provided is correct.
If you did not receive your reservation number due to a technical problem, we apologize in advance for the inconvenience. Please call our reservation centre at 1-888-GASPESIE (427-7374) or call the hotel directly to report the problem.

What are your booking conditions?
Our booking conditions appear before you confirm your reservation.

How can I tell if there are any rooms available?
To find out if rooms are available, click on “Online Reservation” on the homepage of our website.
Once you have selected a hotel and entered your check-in date, the duration of your stay (number of nights) and the total number of guests, a list of hotel rooms will appear.
Three options are possible for each room:
- The room may be listed as Not Available .
- The room may be available immediately, in which case a Book button will appear next to it.
- The room may possibly be available, in which case a Request Now button will appear next to it. Once you click on this button, a request for a reservation will be sent to the hotel to check the room’s availability. An email will be sent to you to confirm whether or not this room is available.

How can I find out how much a room costs?
To find out room rates for a particular hotel, click on “Online Reservation” on the homepage of our website, select a hotel and enter your check-in date, the duration of your stay (number of nights) and the total number of guests. A list of hotel rooms will appear with their rates.
Payment
Does the payment go through when I book the room?
Your credit card information is used to hold your room only. You will be charged for the room when you check in. The only exception is the Tour of Gaspésie package: you must pay a 50% deposit when you book this package.
Consulting or cancelling a reservation
I want to cancel my online reservation. Will I still be charged for my stay?
If you cancel your reservation before noon on the day of your arrival, you will not be charged. After that time, you will be charged for the first night; the reservation for the remainder of your stay will be cancelled automatically.

Can I modify my online reservation?
Of course! You have three options:
- Call the hotel directly
- Call our reservation centre at 1-888-GASPESIE (427-7374)
- Email us at riotel@riotel.com

I’ve lost my reservation number. How can I consult or cancel my reservation?
Your reservation number appears in the confirmation email we sent you when you booked your room.
You may also contact the hotel directly or the reservation centre (by calling 1-888-GASPESIE). Please specify that you made the reservation online.
To avoid losing your reservation number, print the confirmation page or email right away.
Security and confidentiality
Do I have to provide my credit card information to book a room online?
Yes, we need your credit card information to process and guarantee your reservation.
All credit card information is encrypted.

Are there any risks involved in providing my credit card information on your website?
No.
All the personal information you provide us when booking a room online is encrypted.
We use the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) system, which is a standard protocol for web-based communications and one of the most secure systems available. This encryption method prevents third-party access to personal and financial information.
Our security certificate has been verified. To confirm this, follow these steps:
- USING FIREFOX:
Click or double-click on the lock icon in the lower right-hand corner of the browser window. A Page Info window will appear. Click on the Security tab. The first section of this tab confirms the website’s identity and that it has been verified. You can also click on the View Certificate button for more information.
- USING INTERNET EXPLORER:
- Version 6:
Double-click on the lock icon in the lower right-hand corner of the browser window. A Certificate window will appear, which provides information about the certificate, including its date of validity.
- Version 7:
Click on the lock icon to the right of the address bar. A Website Identification window will appear. Click the View Certificates link at the bottom. This will provide you with information about the certificate, including its date of validity.
Comments and complaints
After staying at one of your hotels, I would like to send a letter of complaint or congratulations. Where should I send it?

What are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in starts at 4 p.m. You must check out by 11 a.m.

Can my pet stay with me in my hotel room?
Unfortunately not. We are unable to accept pets in our hotel as they may provoke allergic reactions.
We make an exception for guide dogs.

Do you offer family rooms in your hotel?
We offer spacious rooms that can accommodate up to 5 people (2 double beds + 1 extra bed for $15 a night).

Is breakfast included in room rates?
Breakfast is not included. You may specify how many breakfasts you want when you book your room (you will be charged per person per day).
Remember to reserve your breakfasts when you book your room!

Is there a dress code for the dining room?
No.

Does the hotel have a pool?
Unfortunately there is no pool at Riôtel Bonaventure but you can swim in the Baie des Chaleurs and the Bonaventure River

Do I have to pay for parking?
No, parking is free.

Does the hotel provide Internet access?
Riôtel Bonaventure offers complimentary wireless high-speed Internet in all rooms and common areas.
A computer with high-speed Internet access is also available for guests who don’t have a laptop.

Do all hotel rooms have their own bathroom?
Yes.

- Matane to Percé: 4½ hours
- Percé to Bonaventure: 2 hours
- Bonaventure to Matane: 3½ hours

Are all three hotels accessible by train (VIA Rail)?
VIA Rail provides train service to Percé and Bonaventure only.

Are your hotels near the sea?
All our hotels are near the sea. In fact, Riôtel Bonaventure is the closest hotel to the sea in Gaspésie!
