On your way to Matane
We recommend a stop at Métis-sur-Mer, one of the most charming villages in Québec. Near the village, at Grand-Métis, visit one of the jewels of Canada’s horticultural heritage: the superb Jardins de Métis. Founded by Madame Elsie Reford at the dawn of the 20th century, the gardens showcase more than 3,000 plant species.An international festival is also held there.

The town of Matane
Matane is famous internationally for its delicious Nordic shrimps and magnificent salmon river. In the back-country, the wildlife reserve offers good opportunities to observe moose due to their great numbers.
